The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been hit with defection again, as six of its chieftains in Oyibo local government area of Rivers State joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The new defectors, according to reports, include Adolphus Nweke, Onyema Ihenna, Ibekwe Okere, among others.
It was gathered that the defectors were received on Wednesday by the party leader in Oyibo, Gift Okere, and Caretaker Committee chairman, Chamberlain Okorie.
Claiming that the PDP has crashed in the area following the defection of key executives to the APC, he urged the new members to work for APCs victory in the next elections.
Though the APC in Rivers State is also neck-deep in intra-party crisis, the defectors said the PDP is no better party, saying that they hoped the APC structure in Rivers State would become stronger after the crisis period.
